Healthy Soul is a platform that aims to create a safe space to inhabit healthier habits in your daily routine and get guidance and professional help in a healthy environment.

THE GOALS

  • Features to evaluate the mood and recommend activities for long-term wellness.

  • Being an application targeted towards a sensitive audience it should create a very relaxing, soothing, and safe environment.

  • It should provide various tools to motivate the users to take better care of themselves for a healthier lifestyle.

  • The platform should be welcoming and easy to access whenever and wherever required.

BUSINESS GOALS

  • Increasing user retention by recommending trustworthy personalized content that has a positive impact on users' lifestyles.

  • Offering a premium subscription to get guidance and content recommendations from the counselors of 'Happy Soul'.

  • Research of the user market once the app is launched to understand user trends and needs in order to add, personalize, and recommend further content for the development of the brand. 

PURPOSE

In India, 150 million people need mental health care but fewer than 30 million are seeking care according to the NIMHANS (Oct 2022). This made me realize the necessity of mental health support platforms that can provide easy access to resources for all.

AFFINITY MAPPING

After conducting the research the data is organized using affinity mapping.

NEEDS

To share problems in  a safe space.

Guide to keep track about mental wellbeing.

Improve daily habits and wellbeing.

Users simply don't want to be told what to do but they want to know want to be given step by step tasks to achieve it.

To cultivate a positive attitude for all aspects of life.

Learn and implement self care habits.

PAIN POINTS

Difficulty in sharing problems with friends and family.

Don't easily accept the need to  seek help due to social stigma.

Professional services are expensive and time consuming.

To have better relationships with people.

 

COMPETITORS ANALYSIS

Based on the insights from interviews and personas an empathy map was created to understand the user. their goals and their expectation for a recipe applications. Here are some of the observations noticed from some of the competitive applications.

PROS

  • Very engaging illustrations and micro-interactions

  • Offers meditations and series on mindfulness.

  • Programs led by experts.

  • Activity recommendations are given each day.

CONS

  • These apps are good for general short-term solutions. 

  • Too much content in one category increases the cognitive load.

  • Have to dedicate time to choose the content and then implement it.

  • Too many settings options which the user got to know about later.

VISUAL DESIGN

The visual design of the app is simplistic, minimal and looks peaceful.

 

Colour Palette

Taking into account the purpose of the app, the colour palette is kept subtle and calm. The color blue represents loyalty, trust, sensitivity confidence and faith. It also creates a connection to calming and refreshing nature.

Typography

Font: Montserrat

The font Montserrat has a geometric simplicity. It looks peaceful and creates a feeling of trust.

UX  Writing

The voice used in the text should be very supportive, encouraging, and friendly. It should create a comfortable understanding environment. Content should be clearly shown and easy to understand, access, and navigate.

LEARNINGS

  • The importance of making the app very convenient to use by seamlessly aligning the goals of the user.

  • Reducing the cognitive load on the user is important for a smooth user flow and keeping the user engaged and relaxed in a well-being app.

NEXT STEPS

  • The concept has a lot of potential to address the user needs. 

  • Dark mode can be added for some functionalities such as sleep content feed to create a relaxing environment for sleep in the app.

  • Other functions such as podcasts related to well-being, shopping items for well-being can be included.
